1.Can you remember your first ever motorsport photo?

The first motorsport photo I was “proud of” was from the 2008 Monaco Grand Prix. My family was traveling through Europe during my sophomore year of college and we went to the GP. That was really the first time I used my camera.

2.When did you start photography as a job?

As a full time job, in 2014. The first time I was paid for pictures in some form or fashion was 2009 when I was at college.

3.What is your favourite photo you have ever taken?

Don’t really have a favorite. There are so many that I have that really make me proud. But not a favorite.

4.What is your favourite manufacturer you have taken photos for?

Lamborghini.

5.What is your favourite circuit for unique photos?

Nürburgring Nordschleife

6.How many photos on average do you take in an F1 race?

The number of pictures I take during an F1 is much lower than a Sports Car race. F1 races are short, the tracks are not very interesting (in general) so on average I will take 3-4 thousand during a day at an F1 race.

7.Pineapple on pizza?

Definitely not.

8.Do you use a single camera for your shots or do you have a range? If you have a range, how do you transport all of them?

I carry two cameras on me at all times.

9. What is your dream car?

Porsche 911 or Lamborghini Huracan EVO.

10. Where do you see yourself in five years?

I’m very fortunate that I am exactly where I want to be. Covering several different series for big teams/manufactures is my dream job. I’d like to continue that work but the market is very volatile.

11. What is the best moment of your career?

Probably the first time I was asked to work for a big manufacturer at Pikes Peak Hill Climb.

12. Did your school degrees help with your current job?

Not directly but I also think it’s very important to be a well rounded and educated individual. You need to be able to write, you need to be able to speak, and hold conversation with people from all over the world. So a narrow minded opinion will never ever get you more work.

13. Who is your idol?

Chris Burkard.

14. Do you follow any other sports?

I follow the NFL, Horse Racing, Swimming, Skiing and most forms of motorsport.

15. Are you a dog or cat person?

Dogs.

16. How different is motorsport photography from other types of photography?

Being a professional motorsport photographer really forces you to be well rounded at lots of different kinds of photography. Sports, candids, landscapes, hospitality, slow shutter speed, fast shutter speed. It’s a huge mix of lots of different niches.
