Toto Wolff Furious After Zak Brown Statement

Recently, McLaren CEO Zak Brown spoke about the possibility of Sir Lewis Hamilton retiring from the sport after winning his eighth World Driver’s Championship this year, he added that he sees Valtteri Bottas’ drive coming to an end too. “An obvious conclusion is that you will see Max and George there [at Mercedes] in 2022.” It is a well-known fact that George’s career is managed by Mercedes and so his move doesn’t seem too far out of the question. Meanwhile, Max Verstappen is currently trying to fight for a world championship with RedBull, and so the move seems less likely.

Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff was recently in conversation with Austrian media outlet OE24 and he was clearly not a fan of  Brown’s opinion. RedBull Team Principal Christian Horner was also on the receiving end of his disapproval.

“Brown is like Christian Horner, They just spread sh*t. I think Zak wanted to give Christian one with it. I don’t care.” He was quoted as saying.

There were rumours about Lewis Hamilton and George Russell being no longer on speaking terms after Russell was called to fill in for him at last year’s Sakhir Grand Prix. His performance at the race gave us all a glimpse of the calibre he possessed and how well he could perform in a car that matched it. Wolff admitted that he was unaware of these rumours but claimed that it was understandable as the competition between the two is very strong.
