Juncos Racing and Arrow McLaren have announced their decision to enter into a strategic alliance for next season. This alliance will commence with commercial and strategic focuses, with room for expansion into other series in the future.
This partnership means the two teams will be developing their pool of talents together, whilst sharing mechanics, engineers, and drivers, giving more opportunity to gain experience.
In a statement put out by Juncos Racing, Ricardo Juncos, President and co-owner of Juncos Hollinger Racing, spoke highly about the alliance:
“Our two teams have a lot of similarities in how we’re attracting partners and building a fanbase. We’re starting out with a strategic alliance and we’ll see how that may evolve from here.”
The teams other co-owner Brad Hollinger also added in his words on the situation:
“We believe our alliance will enable us to accelerate our progress while also benefiting McLaren with commercial and talent development opportunities.”
Arrow McLaren will have three full-time cars next season, with Alexander Rossi, Pato O’ Ward, and David Malukas piloting the cars. Juncos on the other hand, haven’t announced their line-up yet, but are expected to retain their two drivers for 2024, Callum Ilott and Agustin Canapino. Juncos will also be continuing with two full-time cars next season.
Arrow McLaren team principal Gavid Ward spoke out about the news, expressing his interest in developing and strengthening this alliance:
“We’re continually working to strengthen all areas of our team, and a strategic alliance with Juncos Hollinger Racing helps both of us in leveraging our commercial and marketing power and the McLaren Racing brand in a new way.” Ward added.
It will definitely be intriguing to see how this alliance plays out when IndyCar action resumes once again in 2024.
