Aston Martin Confirm F1 Launch Date

Aston Martin are set to reveal an F1 car for the first time in over 60 years, having announced today that they’ll be launching their 2021 contender on March the 3rd at their HQ in Gaydon, UK. The Silverstone-based team, previously known as Racing Point, have undergone rebranding in the off season after Racing Point’s owner Lawrence Stroll’s investment into the car manufacturer.

The new livery is expected to move away from it’s Racing Point pink and take the Aston Martin-brand green as its new primary colour, as Cognizant replaces BWT as the title sponsor.

The launch event will also be the first time we see Sebastian Vettel in green, the four-time world champion leaving Ferrari last year after a difficult season. Vettel and teammate Lance Stroll will give the new Aston Martin its first drive during pre-season testing, running between 12-14 March, two weeks before the season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix on 28 March.

This announcement means there are only 2 teams remaining yet to announce launch dates: RedBull and Haas, with the latter struggling to finish work on their 2021 car due to COVID-19 restrictions.
