Allison is handing the reins over to Elliot and will now be focusing on helping the Silver arrows overcome the challenges faced by the revamped regulations of the 2022 Formula One Season.
“I firmly believe that people have a shelf life in senior roles in this sport,” he said, “and I have chosen to step away from my role as Technical Director in order to pass on the baton at the right time for the organisation and myself,” Allison stated.
“Mike has developed from our Head of Aerodynamics to now being ready to take the step up to become Technical Director. Together with an exceptional group of senior technical leaders, this puts us in the best possible position for the sport’s next era.” James spoke about Mike.
James believes that the organisation will benefit from the freshness Mike will bring to the role and hopes that he can continue contributing to the team by supporting Toto Wolff and overcoming the strategic challenges they may face in the future.
Allison had been the technical director of the silver arrows since 2017, in his time overseeing the operations at Brackley the team has remained unbeaten in the constructor’s and driver’s championships.
