Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA to enter two hypercars for the 2025 WEC season

Cadillac Racing will be expanding to a two-car Hypercar effort run by Hertz Team JOTA for the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship season.

The WEC’s single full season Cadillac LMDh entry has thus far been run by Chip Ganassi Racing, but after a three-year partnership the decision was made to not renew the collaboration for 2025.

This meant both parties had to look for new partners to stay in the championship for the following season, though it appears unlikely that Chip Ganassi Racing will return to the championship’s top class next year.

Over in IMSA, it appears highly likely that Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti will take over Ganassi’s GTP effort with an additional Cadillac V-series R, while Hertz Team JOTA has now been confirmed as the new Cadillac factory team on the WEC side.

Building on its incredible LMP2 track record, Hertz Team JOTA has had quite a successful run with its privateer Hypercar effort, becoming the first non-manufacturer team to win a race overall in the WEC at Spa as well as a second place finish at the season opener in Qatar.

The team has proven its ability to competitively run two cars in the top class and take the fight to the manufacturer teams, most of whom currently run on a significantly larger budget with much more technical support from their respective brands.

Cadillac Racing already seemed likely to double its efforts in the WEC, and the recent rule change requiring manufacturers to enter at least two cars made the expansion inevitable if the American brand wanted to remain in the top class.

It is currently unknown to what extent the driver lineups of the current Cadillac and JOTA entries will be carried over, as well as what will happen to the two privateer Porsche 963’s currently entered by Hertz Team JOTA.
