Red Bull boss Christian Horner has reportedly inked a new 5 year deal that will keep him in charge of the Austrian outfit until 2026.

Horner will continue in the post he’s held since the inception of the racing team, 16 years ago, of Team Principal. The contract extension in turn means that Horner will be at the helm of the Milton Keynes based team throughout the aerodynamic regulation overhaul up until the dawn of the Power Unit regulation changes expected to take effect in 2026.

In an interview with ServusTV earlier this week in which Helmut Marko appeared alongside 2021 Formula 1 World Champion Max Verstappen, Marko said he was looking to secure stability in Red Bull’s senior positions.

“Within the whole team, or at least the top positions, we want to have stability for the transition years coming up, when the new engine regulations come in and when the new chassis regulations come in, so that we have a solid team for that,” said Marko.

In that interview Marko also remarked about how he and Christian form a great partnership stating, “Christian is the team principal, he is in the public eye and I am more in the background,”

“But we coordinate things quite well, we set the direction of the team, and also of our staff. In political issues we usually speak the same language, and I believe our success proves us right.” Marko said.
