F1 Academy have announced that Welsh star Ella Lloyd will partner PREMA Racing in Singapore, sporting an exclusive F1 Academy ‘Discover Your Drive’ livery for the event.

Currently competing in British F4, Lloyd is known as the woman who traded horses for horsepower — with just two years of racing experience under her belt, her progression has been outstanding. A brief karting career was the stepping stone to Ginetta Junior, where she drove her Ginetta G40 to points in 15 of 25 outings.

Graduating to Ginetta GT the year after, the Welshwoman scored a total of 10 victories in the GT5 class. Now ninth in the standings with three podium finishes so far, her debut single-seater campaign in the competitive British F4 Championship continues to impress.

Speaking out on the news, Ella Lloyd began by saying:

"I am very excited and honoured to be given the opportunity to be the F1 Academy Wild Card entry in Singapore. My hard work and dedication throughout my rookie season in single seaters have led me to this amazing moment in my career and I am looking forward to putting everything I have learned into practice and making the most of the weekend.”

“I will show everyone what I can do behind the wheel while making the most of the experience and hopefully inspiring other young female drivers to push for their dreams. I would like to thank Susie Wolff, F1 Academy and everyone involved for making this possible."

Taking to the F1 Academy ‘Discover Your Drive’ car, Lloyd will be operated by reigning champions PREMA Racing.

‘Discover Your Drive’ is an initiative launched by F1 Academy earlier this year, its aim being to aid women into motorsport by offering both trackside and off-track experiences — whether it’s finding the next driving star through their karting events or inspiring future journalists and engineers through their ‘Career Discovery Programme’.

Pilar Harris, F1 Academy’s ‘Discover Your Drive’ lead, took the time to comment:

“At F1 ACADEMY, our mission is to inspire the next generation of female talent - both on and off the track. We're working to bring opportunities to young girls and women around the world and encourage a new generation of girls and women to consider a career in motorsport.

“We're delighted to welcome Ella as our Wild Card entry for Round 5 and to see her sporting a livery that underlines our commitment to fuelling futures with F1 Academy Discover Your Drive."
