Formula One returns to the controversial Miami Grand Prix, a spectacle for a lot of celebrities in the Miami area. For general fans, Miami has usually been synonymous with being a mediocre race. However, 2024 gave us one of the most memorable U.S Grands prix of all time, with a new race winner - Lando Norris.

Sergio Perez made a mistake heading into the first corner, very nearly taking out his own teammate Max Verstappen at Turn 1. Perez would fly wide, causing a consatina effect to the cars behind. Oscar Piastri would fly around the outside of Perez and Carlos Sainz at Turn 2, taking 3rd and holding the gap to Max Verstappen, who slowly opened the gap up to around 3 seconds.
Eventually, the field would pit and Oscar Piastri would challenge Charles Leclerc for 2nd. However, a huge crash between Kevin Magnussen and Logan Sargeant at Turn 2 would bring out the Safety Car, as Lando Norris benefitted from the Safety Car and took the lead of the race. A minor Safety Car issue, not being able to initially pick Norris up as the race leader, allowing him to open the gap to over 20 seconds for a while.
However, eventually once the field restarted, Verstappen was unable to catch Norris, especially after Leclerc made Verstappen run a little deep into the heavy braking zone of Turn 9. Verstappen was unable to make his Red Bull turn into the corners properly, and Norris eventually held a lead of over 5 seconds.
A result which will thrill the young fans who idolise Lando Norris, a driver who is super popular for the young fans of Formula One and a huge social media star as well. Lando Norris' win is also the first time a British driver has won a race since George Russell's first win back in Brazil 2022.
