Another Formula One season is upon us, and Red Bull Racing are looking to bounce back after finishing third in last year’s constructors’ championship.

The team has a new driver line-up, with the Kiwi, Liam Lawson, partnering four time world champion Max Verstappen.

Lawson is not a rookie by any means. After taking part in several races across the 2023 and 2024 seasons for Red Bull’s junior team Racing Bulls, this will be his first full season in the sport and it will be exciting to see how he fares. He will be expected to perform exceptionally, as Red Bull is known to be ruthless if a driver does not fulfill expectations.

Additionally, he is replacing Sergio Pérez, who left despite his two-year contract extension. Perez helped the team and Verstappen achieve many of their awards during his time with the team. However, he struggled last season, only managing to finish eighth in the drivers’ championship.

2025 will be Verstappen’s 10th season in the sport, and ninth with Red Bull, during which he has won 63 races, four drivers’ championships, and two constructors’ championships. He will be looking further to establish himself as a legend in the sport, aiming for his fifth consecutive World Championship.

Other notable personnel changes include Adrian Newey leaving Red Bull to join the Aston Martin Aramco team. Newey has been with the team since 2006 and was highly involved in both Sebastian Vettel and Verstappen’s dominating seasons, with the most impressive coming from the 2023 season, where Red Bull finished first in the constructors’ championship, over 400 points ahead of second place Mercedes.

Going into the 2025 season, the team will be looking to re-establish themselves as the dominant force and emerge victorious with another drivers’ and constructors’ championship, with team principal Christian Horner expressing his excitement, saying “this year is set to be super, super competitive, which is very, very exciting.”

It will be exciting to see how the Milton Keynes team develops and who knows, maybe we will see a third consecutive 1-2 in the first race of the season for the team.
