In a hectic race from start to finish, Tim Tramnitz managed to solidify himself out front to win the final sprint race of the season in Monza. It was the German driver’s first single-seaters victory since his FRECA campaign in 2023.

As it unfolded

Drama struck a title contender on the formation lap, with Christian Mansell being stuck in third gear on grid line-up and having to start from the pit lane. Subsequently, race control added an extra formation lap.

The predictably hectic first lap saw Tim Tramnitz hold the lead from reverse-grid pole. Sebastian Montoya slotted into second followed by Dino Beganovic.

On Lap 2, the safety car came out for a collision between Noel León and Nikita Bedrin in the first chicane. Teammate Tommy Smith tagged the back of his Mexican teammate, sending him into a spin that also collected Bedrin. The two went out of the race in the gravel trap.

The safety car ended three laps later on Lap 5.

By the end of the first green flag lap, two title contenders – Leonardo Fornaroli and Arvid Lindblad – made their way into the points-paying positions in ninth and tenth. Fornaroli continued his march up the order into seventh by Lap 11.

As the battles in the mid-pack continued, the safety car came out again on Lap 13 for an incident between Max Esterson and Piotr Wiśnicki. The Polish driver locked up in the first two corners and collected Esterson behind – both going into the barrier and out of the race.

The safety car ended in time for a one-lap dash to the finish. There were a lot of changes in the pack, but the lead never left the hands of Tim Tramnitz, who hung on to take his first victory in the championship. Montoya finished in second followed by Santiago Ramos in third

Dino Beganovic kept his title hopes alive in fifth. Luke Browning managed to get by Fornaroli to finish seventh. Fornaroli fell down to ninth. Gabriele Minì rounded out the points-paying positions in tenth. Arvid Lindblad quietly finished 12th.
