In addition to the selection of venues, some teams have already started to shape their line-ups for the category's most important championship in Latin America.
F4 Brazil: Dates finally out for the 2025 edition
F4 Brazil, the gateway for young talent in motorsport in South America, announced their official dates for the 2025 season. There will be seven stages in total, consolidating the championship as a continental reference in driver development.
The fourth season of the tournament is scheduled to start on May 4th, with a race on the traditional Interlagos circuit. Subsequently, three consecutive rounds are scheduled on the Velo Città circuit, in the months of June, July and October.
On November 9th, the category's premier event will take place on Brazilian soil, being part of the roster of support events for the Formula 1 Brazilian GP, in Interlagos. There is no doubt that this is the race that all F4 Brazil drivers will aim to conquer, given the excellent international visibility that such an event will provide.
The drivers will then take on the Autódromo Internacional Nelson Piquet on November 30th. The grand-finale of the season, scheduled for December 14th, will be another race at Interlagos.
Although this agenda suggests that the calendar for the 2025 F4 Brasil season is already well underway, the Brazilian Automobile Confederation (CBA) states that there are some issues still pending to be resolved.
The main one concerns the stage at the Autódromo Nelson Piquet, in Brasilia. Despite the category's desire to have the sixth race of the year at the venue, there are great doubts about whether this will actually happen, due to an extensive renovation that the site will undergo in 2025.
Furthermore, for the venue to serve as a base for Brazilian F4 this year, the circuit must be homologated again by the FIA, since the site lost its credentials a few years ago due to the negligence of the local track administrator. This is a time-consuming procedure which may not be completed in time for the planned November event.
To this end, the CBA is working with alternative plans for the race in Brasilia. The first would be to hold another stage in Interlagos, which is a more expensive option due to the operational costs of using the circuit, but also offers the best motorsport infrastructure in Brazil.
The second alternative would be to move the sixth stage of the year to the Autódromo Internacional Ayrton Senna, a circuit that had already served as a base for F4 Brazil between 2022 and 2024.
Teams drop first hints for 2025
In addition to the tournament schedule, some initial details regarding team lineups have begun to emerge in recent weeks.
OAKBERRY Bassani F4 seem to have the edge over their competitors in this regard, having already confirmed, at the time of this report, four of their drivers for the year.
The team will run Brazilians Christian Helou, Pedro Lima and Pedro Lins, as well as Argentine Renzo Barbuy. All of them will be F4 rookies, with their most advanced experience so far being in low-level single-seater and kart races.
The other teams on the grid for the 2025 season, Cavaleiro Sports and TMG Racing, have not yet released any information about their line-ups for the upcoming season.
However, it is to be assumed that some familiar faces - who stood out in 2024 for the teams - will return for a new challenge in 2025: Ethan Nobels and Rogério Grotta are both expected to return.
Despite these driver swaps, some technical aspects of the tournament remain unchanged from 2024. The teams will once again run the Tatuus F4-T421 race car, powered by 1.4-litre Abarth 414TF engines.
