FORMULA 3: Nikola Tsolov completes Campos racing's trio for 2025
Campos Racing become the latest team to complete their roster for 2025, signing Bulgarian racer Nikola Tsolov for the upcoming Formula 3 season. Tsolov will partner Mari Boya, who continues at the team for a second year in succession, and Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak, who moves over from PHM Racing.
Tsolov will be racing in his third Formula 3 season in 2025, coming on the back of an improved second campaign in the series for ART Grand Prix. Despite his actions with MP Motorsport's Alex Dunne during free practice in Melbourne earning plenty of flak and a three-place grid drop, the 17-year-old bounced back strongly across the season.
A maiden victory followed in Monaco when Tsolov converted his reverse grid pole position into victory in the sprint race. The Bulgarian would take two further victories in the season, winning the sprint race at Austria, before taking his maiden feature race victory around the Hungaroring only three weeks later.
However, his season wouldn't be without further controversy. Tsolov received a ban from the Belgian round of the Formula 3 season, having taken part in the Eurocup-3 race weekend at Spa earlier this year without prior approval from the FIA.
Despite sitting comfortably in the top ten, Tsolov's ban and subsequent no score at the season finale in Monza meant he dropped down to eleventh in the standings, scoring 75 points across the year. Although, this was a much-improved showing compared to his debut F3 campaign, when he accumulated only six points for ART Grand Prix.
The Bulgarian will also be switching allegiances in 2025, moving from the Alpine Driver Academy to the Red Bull Junior Team for 2025. He would certainly be one to watch out in the upcoming Formula 3 season, as he aims to go for glory in his third Formula 3 campaign.
FORMULA 3: Roman Bilinski graduates to Formula 3 with Rodin in 2025
Finishing up their 2025 lineup was Rodin Motorsport, who confirmed Roman Bilinski to be their third driver for the campaign.
Bilinski began his single-seaters journey in 2020 in the British F4 Championship, taking three podiums enroute to eighth in the standings.
For 2021, the Polish driver began a sophomore season in British F4 but received a mid-season call-up to GB3 with Arden. Here, he took his first three wins in junior formulae.
2022 saw Bilinski move laterally to the Formula Regional European Championship. This campaign, however, saw much less success than the year prior – only having one podium to show for it at the Hungaroring and finishing 17th in the standings. He took a sophomore season in 2023 too but saw even less results with no podiums.
Over the winter in 2024, the 20-year-old took part in the Formula Regional Oceania Championship. Here, he dominated – taking six wins and only finishing off the podium three times enroute to his maiden single-seaters title.
For the summer, Bilinski began another run at the FRECA championship; however, an automobile accident injured him and left him out of more than half the season. Nonetheless, he still finished 14th in the standings with 52 points.
FORMULA 2: Dino Beganovic replaces Juan Manuel Correa for the final two rounds of F2
Ferrari Academy driver Dino Beganovic takes the next step in his career, moving up into F2 with DAMS for the final two rounds, replacing Juan Manuel Correa.
Beganovic was amongst the title contenders for the 2024 F3 season. Entering his second year in the season and his sixth working with the PREMA team, the Swede took his maiden F3 victory in Melbourne.
Continuing with the season, he consistently landed in the points, securing a further two podiums and a victory in Belgium. The Swede was in mathematical contention for the championship up until the final Sprint race in Monza. However, as the championship wrapped up in Monza, Leonardo Fornaroli secured the title. Beganovic concluded the season in sixth, totalling 109 points.
Following a strong season, DAMs F2 announced on Thursday that Beganovic will be joining the F2 team for the final two race weekends of the season in Qatar and Abu Dhabi.
Alongside Beganovic, Luke browning, Christian Mansell and Oliver Goethe will also be graduating from F3 and joining F2 for the closing two rounds for 2024.
“I can’t wait to make my F2 debut with DAMS, who has so much history as well as tremendous drive to achieve great results,” Beganovic said.
“This feels like the natural next step in my career, and I’m ready for the challenge in an extremely competitive championship.
“My aim for these two races is to learn as much as possible and to be scoring points in my first F2 action in Qatar and Abu Dhabi.”
DAMS Lucas Oil Team owner, Charles Pic welcomed the 2022 Formula Regional Champion to the team, thanking Correa’s efforts over the past season which saw the American-Ecuadorian grab a heartfelt podium at the Spanish Feature Race:
“We’re excited to take on a talent like Dino for the remainder of the season. It’s a step up from Formula 3 and a very competitive championship, but we’re confident that with the help of the team Dino can be competitive in these final two rounds.”
“He has an excellent racing CV, and we believe he has what it takes to fight for strong points. I would also like to thank JM for his efforts this season, it was a pleasure to work with him and we wish him all the best for the future.”
