Newcomer Ivan Domingues to join Van Amersfoort Racing in the 2025 F3 Championship
Ivan Domingues signed a contract with Van Amersfoort Racing for the incoming Formula 3 championship season.
The Portuguese driver started his karting career at the age of nine in 2015 and continued participating in Karting Championships up until 2021.
He then entered single seater racing, starting in 2022 at the Formula 4 UAE Championship, where he drove for Xcel Motorsport. Domingues scored 39 points and placed 16th overall.
“I feel very positive and confident about racing with VAR for the 2025 season in the FIA F3 Championship.
“It will be my third year with the team and I can’t wait for the start of this new challenge!” said Domingues, who we will see in the Dutch outfit for a third consecutive season.
Domingues also went on to drive in the Italian F4 Championship in the same year with team Iron Lynx, scoring 21 points and placing 15th.
It was in 2023 when he started his alliance with Van Amersfoort Racing, driving for the team in all subsequent championships such as Italian F4, Euro 4 and Formula Regional European Championship.
In these championships, he displayed consistent performance, securing 11th place in both Euro 4 and FRECA. In 2024, he returned to the FRECA and improved his standing, finishing 10th.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to welcome Ivan to our F3 Team for the upcoming season. Ivan has been a part of our family participating in our F4 and FRECA Team already,” team principal Brad Joyce expressed.
“He has shown great results and determination. We’re confident he‘ll be a fantastic addition to our lineup and we’re excited to work together to achieve more good results on track again and be part of his development.“ Joyce added, speaking of the Portuguese racer’s potential.
Cian Shields steps up to Formula Two with AIX Racing
AIX Racing announced that Cian Shields will race for the team in 2025, completing their Formula 2 line-up alongside Joshua Dürksen.
Having started karting at the age of 11, Shields made his single-seater debut in 2022, competing in GB3. In his rookie season, he finished 13th overall with a win and two further podium finishes to his name.
Shields moved to Euroformula the following year, finishing runner up with four wins across the season, before stepping up to Formula 3 in 2024, with a highest finish of 14th in his rookie season.
The 19-year-old then made his Formula 2 debut in Lusail, replacing the outgoing Niels Koolen at AIX Racing for the final two stages of the 2024 season.
His highest finish across the two rounds was 11th in the Qatar Feature Race, having started from last on the grid.
Following the conclusion of the 2024 season, Shields also completed testing with the team, and shared that he is excited to be steppin up to F2 full-time with AIX Racing in 2025.
“I can’t wait to get started and push myself to new limits this season, and super excited to get to work,” shared Shields, following the announcement.
“We worked very well together at the end of last year. A huge thank you to the team for believing in me, and giving me this incredible opportunity to race under their colours,” Shields expressed.
Alba Hurup Larsen to reunite with MP Motorsport
Tommy Hilfiger driver Alba Hurup Larsen will join forces with MP Motorsport for her inaugural F1 Academy campaign, having recently become a point-scorer with the Dutch outfit in the F4 Indian Championship.
While she is about to commence only her second year in single-seaters, the Danish 16-year-old has already earned herself an impressive array of accolades — from winning the fourth edition of the ‘Girls On Track — Rising Stars’ program, launching the ‘Alba Academy’ and even placing third in Denmark’s ‘Young Scientists’ competition.
“I’m honoured to be named the Tommy Hilfiger driver and race with MP Motorsport in the 2025 F1 Academy season,” Larsen began. “I will be a proud ambassador for Tommy Hilfiger and F1 Academy, committed to advocating gender equality in sports.

MP Motorsport Team Principal Sander Dorsman claims her age “only demonstrates her swift ascent up the single-seater ladder,” remarking that this Danish teenager is a driver to watch out for in 2025.
