The off-season has been buzzing with activity, with teams across the junior formulae scurrying to fill vacancies, and sign emerging talents from the lower rungs of motorsport, or from across the grid. This week’s driver transfer round up brings the biggest headlines from the likes of Formula 2 and F1 Academy, and keep an eye out for the special Formula 3 feature later in the day.

Formula 2

Enzo Fittipaldi will drive for Van Amersfoort Racing in the 2024 Formula Two season after joining the team for post-season testing in Abu Dhabi.

Competing with Rodin Carlin in the 2023 season, the Brazilian driver secured seventh in the standings with five podium finishes- including a maiden victory in the Spa-Francorchamps sprint race.

Fittipaldi has a lot of experience already within the series, having made his Formula Two debut in 2021 after a mid-season call-up with Charouz Racing System. In his first full campaign the following year, Fittipaldi produced a stand-out performance, finishing eighth overall with six podium finishes to his name.

Following the announcement, Fittipaldi shared that he is “very excited to be a part of Van Amersfoort Racing”, and he is confident that they will have a great season together.

F1 Academy

As for F1 Academy, Abbi Pulling will be staying with Rodin Carlin for her sophomore season.

Pulling achieved an incredible seven podiums and two pole-positions to secure fifth place in the championship standings, clearly establishing herself as a front-runner and no doubt influencing Alpine Racing’s decision to sponsor her campaign for the third year running.

She stated: “I am very grateful to be coming back for another year as an Alpine Academy driver, and I am honoured that BWT Alpine F1 Team are entrusting me as their driver selection for the 2024 F1 Academy season.

This news also brings the announcement that Pulling will compete in the ROKiT British F4 Championship alongside her F1 Academy commitments, in the effort to broaden her experience behind the wheel. The 20-year-old has participated in the series before, achieving a sixth place championship finish before she redirected her attention to the now defunct W Series.

“It’s also going to be really great to be head back to the British F4 Championship, there’s certainly some unfinished business there and I’m pleased to be able to race in such a brilliant championship with Rodin Carlin where they have such a great history –I think we’re in for a great year together!”
