Nicklas Nielsen, Alessandro Pier Guidi and Côme Lodegar win the TOTAL ENERGIES 24 hours of Spa Francorchamps in the #51 Iron Lynx Ferrari after dominating almost the entire race. The #32 WRT-Audi with Kelvin van der Linde, Dries Vanthoor and Charles Weerts came in 2nd after an incredible recovery as they started on P54. The podium was completed by the #95 Garage 59 Aston Martin steered by Nicki Thiim, Ross Gunn and Marco Sorensen.

Horrifying crash after 30 minutes of racing
The best news of the race is that the four drivers involved in a very scary accident all survived. Lamborghini driver Jack Aitken lost his car in Eau Rouge, crashed into the barriers and slid back onto the track. Then Porsche driver Kevin Estre, Lamborghini driver Franck Perera and Ferrari driver Davide Rigon all crashed into the former F2 driver with over 230 km/h. The whole situation was pretty similar to Anthoine Hubert’s fatal crash two years ago. Luckily Perera, Rigon and Estre walked away without any major injuries but sadly Aitken broke his collarbone and a vertebrae. We at DIVEBOMB wish him a speedy recovery.
DISAPPOINTMENT for Mercedes-AMG and BMW
The two German brands had high hopes for the 24h race but both got very disappointing results. BMW had the 24h last race for their M6 GT3 before introducing the new M4 GT3 next year and they aimed for a good result to close the chapter M6 and they were at good place with #34 and #35 (both operated by Walkenhorst-Motorsport) being in the battle for the lead. But during the night both had to retire. As they were BMW’s only Pro-class it meant that the dream of a last win for the M6 was over.
Mercedes-AMG celebrated the 50th anniversary of their first 24h of Spa win with a special livery for the #50 HubAuto cars and four very strong Pro line-ups. Qualifying went pretty well for the different AMG teams with #88 on pole, #4 on P3 and #89 on P10. But the trouble already started as #50 had a technical issue so they only qualified 41st. The race wasn’t any better for the brand with the star. #88 had to retire with a suspension failure, #4 retired due to several little problems, #41 had a long reparation stop after a puncture and finished P37 and #89 lacked pace the whole race and finished P10 as the best Mercedes-AMG.
Madpanda dominates Silver-Cup, AF Corse wins the Pro-Am category and Haegeli claims win in AM-Cup
The only bright side for Mercedes-AMG was that they had a 1-2 finish in the silver categorie. Madpanda-Racing #90 had a flawless win and lead for almost the entire 24 hours. #7 Toksport WRT Mercedes comes in 2nd and the #159 Garage 59 completes the podium.
