2014 Indianapolis 500 winner, Ryan Hunter-Reay will return to the Indianapolis 500 with Dreyer & Reinbold Racing, as he will be joined by Jack Harvey, who returns to the race after a year's absence, after his departure from Dale Coyne Racing, as the team locks in their line-up for the 109th Running of the 'Greatest Spectacle in Racing.'

Hunter-Reay will compete in his 17th Indianapolis 500, his third consecutive with Dreyer & Reinbold, who once again, will receive support from Cusick Motorsports. Hunter-Reay made a surprise appearance in the Fast 12 in 2024 before retiring mid-way after a collision with Scott Dixon on the backstretch. He finished 11th with the team in the 107th Running of the Race.

Thrilled to be back with this talented group for the third consecutive year following our strong 2024 performance,” Hunter-Reay said. “Qualifying in the Fast 12 as the sole Indy-only program was a tremendous accomplishment and collectively we’ve been working hard to return in even better form. Looking forward to again teaming up with Jack Harvey; we‘ll be working together to contribute to our goal of fighting for a win at Indy.”

Harvey will be Hunter-Reay's third different teammate in three years at Indianapolis, after he was joined by Stefan Wilson (and later Graham Rahal) in 2023, and Conor Daly in 2024, who is believed to be the primary contender for the remaining Juncos Hollinger Racing seat. Harvey missed the race last season, as he was supporting Nolan Siegel's efforts at Dale Coyne Racing. The Brit, who competed in 15 races in 2024, was left without a full-time seat for the 2025 season.

This will be Harvey's eighth Indianapolis 500, with the 31-year-old having a best finish of 9th in 2020. However, Harvey's most memorable moment at the Speedway came when he bumped teammate, Graham Rahal, out of the field, in a last-gasp attempt in 2023.

Harvey stated: “I am absolutely over the moon to get the opportunity to qualify and hopefully compete in the 109th Indianapolis 500 with Dreyer and Reinbold Racing, I have a lot of respect for Dennis, his partners, and the entire team. I’m really looking forward to working with RHR again. Ryan has always been really generous with his time and knowledge; I know we’ll have a great month together.

“This is also the first time in my IndyCar career that I’ll get to work with Chevrolet, which is pretty exciting.”

Team owner, Dennis Reinbold, added: “We’re excited about Jack from the standpoint of we feel like he can prove a lot and hasn’t had had his best outcome yet for the 500, we like his competitiveness and how he goes about racing. We want to win, and we are very clear and on the same page with that respect.

“With Ryan, that goes without saying. We’ve had some circumstances that have happened over the last two runs with Ryan that just didn’t give us a shot to be there at the end. But we’ve had the speed and had a good car, and he’s proven that he can drive the thing like the champion he is. So we’re excited about getting it right and getting all aspects of the race to fall into place. We think both guys can win it and we’re going in with a bit of a chip on our shoulder, as we typically do, because it’s a tall task to just do that race.”

This will be the team's 26th consecutive attempt at the race, the team having a best finish of fourth with Oriol Servia in 2012.

Don Cusick, who's team have helped support the Indy-only effort since 2023, said: “Cusick Motorsports looks forward to our fifth Indy 500 and especially our third in a row with Dreyer & Reinbold Racing, we have made great strides as a team, including a Fast 12 qualifying slot with Ryan and a top-10 finish with Conor that came with leading the race for 24 laps in the 2024 race."

“For 2025 we are super excited to welcome back Ryan and also bring in Jack Harvey, both IndyCar veterans with the experience and ability to win the race. Always, we are super grateful to Dennis Reinbold, Brett DeBord, Chase Selman and the entire DRR crew and staff for letting us be a part of the Greatest Spectacle on Earth.”

The pair are the latest confirmed Indy-only entries for the 109th Running of the race. 2021 NASCAR Cup Series Champion, Kyle Larson, will return to do the 'Double' with Hendrick Motorsports and Arrow McLaren. Hélio Castroneves will continue his 'drive for five' with Meyer Shank Racing in the No.6, whilst Ed Carpenter will return with his own team.

That leaves the field currently with an expected 32 entries, with further announcements expected by Andretti Global and potentially Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing in regards to additional entries. Juncos Hollinger Racing recently confirmed that they would not field a third car for the race.

The Indy-only team's annual announcement of their drivers is one of those signs that the 'Greatest Spectacle in Racing' is just around the corner, and today's confirmation meaning that both Ryan Hunter-Reay and Jack Harvey will be there.
