Jakarta, as one of the cities planned to be raced in, has postponed the Jakarta E-Prix to 2022, subject to the pandemic situation in Indonesia. With numbers continuing to rise, the organizers thought that it’s best to do so.

Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, along with the Organizing Committee of the Jakarta E-Prix have agreed on a further next-year postponement of the event after the event was originally cancelled in 2020 because of the outbreak of COVID-19.
The Organizing Committee of the Jakarta E-Prix has put out a statement, saying,
“We support the steps taken by the Government as a preventive effort against the development of COVID-19 with the consideration of prioritizing the safety of the people in Indonesia, especially in the capital.”
Formula E Operations, as the promoter and official license holder of the FIA ABB Formula E Championship have agreed on the decision made by Jakarta and they are still discussing the possibility for a rescheduling of the event.
So far, there have been a number of Formula E events that have been postponed, with the Chinese and Mexican E-Prix’s postponed prior to the Jakarta E-Prix. The Seoul E-Prix was also cancelled as a result of the global pandemic still taking place.
