After only four race weekends in Formula 3, Kacper Sztuka took to social media to announce he has been axed from the Red Bull junior program. A tough start for the Pole sees the MP Motorsport driver sit 19th in the standings.
Sztuka originally signed on with the Red Bull program back in November, after securing two championships in the Formula Winter Series and Italian Formula 4.
After competing in both categories for three years, he moved up into the next step on the ladder in 2024 with MP Motorsport, partnering alongside Alex Dunne. However, Sztuka’s season was off to a tough start.
A string of tough results from the Red Bull Junior, with a fifth place finish in Imola being his best result of the season and also his only points scored, meant he was dropped from Red Bull’s program.
Sztuka took to social media to announce his departure, despite the disappointing news, the 18-year-old remains positive and is determined to bounce back:
“I wanted to share with you information about my development and further performances in Formula 3 in the current season," Sztuka said on X.
"In recent weeks, the contract with Red Bull's junior program was terminated at the partner's initiative. Until the end of the cooperation, my starts, functioning in the team and the progress I made was positively assessed by all people working directly with me.
"Thank you very much to everyone who has been involved in the project that I have been a part of since November 2023.” He added.
Sztuka confirmed that this news will not impact the remainder of his Formula 3 season, as the Pole reassures he will be finishing the season with MP Motorsport, looking ahead to the fifth round of the season at Barcelona:
"The above decision does not affect the assessment of the MP Motorsport team and our starting plans.
"In the 2024 season, thanks to the support of my sponsors, I intend to compete in all remaining rounds of the FIA Formula 3 Championship and continue to develop as a driver both on and off the track.
“My determination to be the fastest, win, and one day race against the best drivers in the world remains unchanged. Thank you for all your words of support. We are entering the final stage of preparations for the race in Barcelona. See you on the track!" He concluded.
