Ken Block’s Legacy

Written by William Stephens, Edited by Ishani Aziz

Ken Block was best known for his ‘gymkhana’ series of videos where he would be seen ripping vehicles around exotic locations and performing hair-raising stunts. Block had passed the torch onto fellow driver Travis Panstrata in recent years but continued to release content on YouTube with his daughter Lia who has begun racing herself in the ARA National Rally Championship in a junior class alongside Ken.

Ken Block was an inspiration to so many people in the motorsport community. His brand Hoonigan helped shine a light on the world-famous art of drifting before its rise to the world-class event it is today.

Ken had an extensive car collection from his videos, and the rally events he competed in ranged from the insanely famous 'Hoonicorn' - which he has demonstrated at many events across the planet - to his ‘Cossie V2’ which he rallied across America and Mexico, and more recently to a custom one-off Audi Hoonitron which was to be his last appearance in the series.

Ken Block was an inimitable icon, and a role model for millions of fans and sportspeople around the world and will leave a massive hole within the motorsport community. At this time everyone at DIVEBOMB wishes the Block family well and reminds the readers to respect the family's privacy.
