Kiro Race Co. have confirmed Dan Ticktum and David Beckmann as their driver lineup for Season 11 (2024/'25) of Formula E. Ticktum has competed for the Silverstone-based team since Season 8 (2021/'22), whilst Beckmann is making his full-time debut in Formula E having made two starts in the series at Jakarta in Season 9 for Andretti.
Ticktum has shown some promise in Formula E, with a flurry of points finishes in poor machinery in Season 9 showing he has impressive speed in Formula E. However, Season 10 was his worst campaign to date, with only one points finish across 16 races.
That points finish came with a fourth place in Misano, where he narrowly missed out on a podium by just 0.8s to Maserati's Max Guenther. Regardless, it was a career-best finish for the London-born driver.
Ticktum has an impressive junior series record. He is a two-time winner of the legendary Macau Grand Prix and is a multiple-race winner in Formula 2. He came through the ranks as a member of the Red Bull and Williams Racing academies. He also had a short stint in Japanese Super Formula.
David Beckmann similarly has strong credentials from his time in the junior series. He is a multiple race winner in GP3/Formula 3, and has multiple podium finishes to his name in Formula 2. He most recently competed in endurance racing, in WEC with Jota in LMP2, and at the 24 hours of Nurburgring. He won in class at the 2023 1000 Miles of Sebring.
Beckmann has also served as the reserve driver for Porsche in Formula E since season nine, getting called up in Jakarta that season to fill in for Andretti's Andre Lotterer who was preparing to race at Le Mans. He only managed a 16th place in his first race, and failed to complete the second.
Regardless, he has reportedly been impressive in testing and his pace has been enough for Kiro to sign him for Season 11.
Ticktum remains with and Beckmann joins the team formerly known as ERT, newly-rebranded as Kiro Race Co. In October 2024, the team was bought out by American investors and will compete under an American flag, though their base will remain in Silverstone.
The team has gone through several name changes in past years, being known as China Racing, NEXTEV, and NIO 333, before they rebranded as ERT in Season 10.
The team also announced, alongside their rebrand, that they would be switching to Porsche powertrains for Season 11. They had used their own factory-built powertrains prior to this, with little success.
This should be hopeful for the team as Porsche powertrains have captured the last two drivers' championships. This also clarifies why Beckmann signed with the team, as he has been the longstanding Porsche reserve driver in Formula E.
