Lewis Hamilton puts it on Pole position for the Brazilian Grand Prix – well, sorta. Following an immensely dominant session, he lines up first for tomorrow’s ‘Sprint Qualifying’ with Max Verstappen alongside and Valtteri Bottas rounding out the top three. The Brit was comfortably ahead of the RedBull driver throughout the day as he enjoyed the fresh power from his new ICE – for which he will endure a 5 place grid drop ahead of Sunday’s main race.

Sergio Perez failed to break into the top three, although he was still comfortably ahead of fifth placed Pierre Gasly who once again put in a stunner of a session to beat both Ferraris and McLarens! Speaking of which, the battle for third in the constructors is sure to heat up tomorrow, with Carlos Sainz leading his Ferrari teammate to sixth and seventh, ahead of both McLarens with Lando Norris in eighth and Daniel Ricciardo in ninth. Meanwhile, Fernando Alonso performed admirably to round out the top ten as his teammate Esteban Ocon narrowly missed out on the Q3 shootout.

Sebastian Vettel will line up 12th for tomorrow’s Sprint Qualifying with Yuki Tsunoda just behind in an unlucky 13th. Alfa Romeo will be happy to have made it into Q2 with both cars, starting tomorrow’s race that’s not a race in 14th and 15th, with Kimi Raikkonen ahead of Antonio Giovinazzi. Lance Stroll missed out on Q2 to much frustration, despite narrowly setting a time good enough to get through and will start in 16th. On the other hand, Nicholas Latifi will be delighted with today’s showing as he out qualifies George Russell in traditional qualifying for the first time as teammates with the Williams pair locking out the ninth row. The two Haas cars rounded out the grid with Mick Schumacher ahead of an emotional Nikita Mazepin, who felt as though he had let his team down.

Be sure not to miss tomorrow’s Sprint Qualifying as everything is still to play for!
