IMSA returns for an Endurance round at Watkins Glen, with the #40 Acura on pole with Louis Deletraz at the wheel, with the #01 Cadillac and #31 Whelen Cadillac just a quarter of a second off the fastest time. 15:17 - #25 BMW is now gaining a lot of pace under the drying conditions, closing right onto the rear of the #7 Porsche for third and duelling for position


15:16 - #25 BMW has overtaken the #01 Cadillac for 4th place, with Bourdais now losing a place after pitting for fresh slick tyres


15:14 - Tandy #6 Porsche is hounding the #10 Acura for the lead of the race, nearly diving to the inside at Turn 7 and 8, with Albuquerque #10 Acura just about staying in the lead of the race

14:40 - Camera operators at the circuit have been told to stand down, currently there is only footage from inside the cars.


14:38 - Light rain is now falling, with the rain coming and going - Pit Lane is CLOSED


14:37 - #83 Iron Dames is in the barriers at Turn 10



14:36 - Heavy Rain now falling on the pit straight, pit stops for wet tyres are expected - Dane Cameron #7 Porsche is leading but on slick tyres, as now the wet tyre runners catch up


14:35 - Light Rain is now falling


14:34 - #63 Lamborghini GTP has a DRIVE-THROUGH PENALTY for a pass under yellow flags


14:32 - Roughly a 3-4 second per lap advantage for those on slick tyres, the wet tyre runners have now lost a lot of time


14:31 - #7 Porsche of Dane Cameron now leads, having stayed out on the slick tyres and pulling out a 3 second lead, the #6 Porsche now comes into the pits


14:30 - #6 Porsche leads with Nick Tandy at the wheel, followed closely by the #40 Acura of Jordan Taylor



14:27 - Cars are now moving onto the slick tyres as the wet weather decreases, a restart is expected soon


14:25 - #25 BMW has been given the wave-around and is back on the leading lap, coming straight into the pits


14:20 - Sarah Bovy in the #83 Iron Dames Lamborghini as everyone in the GTD Class comes in for wet tyres

14:11 - #27 Aston Martin GTD has a left rear puncture, now a couple of laps off the lead, with barrier repairs under way.


14:10 - HALFWAY DISTANCE, 3 HOURS REMAINING


14:08 - #7 Porsche leads GTP but has NOT pitted for the wet tyres, with the #6 Porsche of Nick Tandy now in the net lead of the race


14:06 - The leaders have now pitted for the full wet tyres as the circuit now breaks into heavy rain conditions, with a huge crash for the GTD cars now bringing out a FCY



14:05 - Huge crash for the #55 Ford GTD and #27 Aston Martin GTD on the entry to the final corner, a Full Course Yellow deployed


13:59 - The LMP2 and GTD Pro leaders - #52 Inter Europol and #14 Lexus - have been given drive-throughs for delta violations.


13:55 - The rain is hitting the Boot first. The surface has darkened


13:53 - The rain tyres are going on some teams!


13:46 - CRASH! Pumpelly in the #44 Aston Martin goes for a spin at entry into the Boot. It appears he understeered into the car to his outside. He continues on.


13:44 - The #10 and #25 serve their drive-throughs, now penalised for the incident. The #1 will likely soon follow.


13:42 - Per race control, an incident between the #31, #25, and #10 in the pit lane is under investigation.


13:41 -


13:32 - The GTD Pro and GTD cars follow suit.


13:30 - GTP cars come into the pits. Most take tyres and fuel.


13:24 - The radar is showing a sizeable storm cell that's heading right towards the track. Teams have the wet tyres ready to go.


13:20 - It looks like Barbosa just dropped it on the rumblestrip on exit. They are done for the day.


13:19 - The #33 SCM LMP2, driven by Joao Barbosa, crashes heavily in Turn 1. Caution is out

13:03 - Upon replay examination, it appears that Derani may have had contact, as the nose was lopsided.


13:01 - The #31 Cadillac, now piloted by Derani, comes into the pits for an unscheduled stop. The report is a right-rear issue. As this happens, Felipe Nasr in the #7 Porsche pits from the lead.

12:53 - The frontrunners begin their pit stops. First taker is the #01 Cadillac. No driver swap.

12:47 - The LMP2 leader, #52 Inter Europol, now comes into the pits. They're only taking fuel.


12:45 - The pit lane is BUSY. Most GTD Pro and GTD teams are taking advantage of the looming weather to undergo driver swaps.


12:43 - RAIN! The first few drops have come down, and the fear in the pit lane is coming true. From now to 14:00, there is a 100% chance of rain.


12:41 - The #25 BMW pits again. They swap De Phillippi for Yelloly.


12:34 - Despite leading in their class only one hour ago, the #11 LMP2 with Steven Thomas behind the wheel has fallen to fifth.


12:27 - And those brake issues have proved to be major. The #3 Chevrolet pits from second in their class to change the brake discs.


12:23 - Possible issues for our P2 car in GTD Pro! The #3 Chevrolet, currently driven by Alexander Sims, is reporting brake problems. He and the team are debating what to do.


12:18 - Change for the overall lead! Aitken swiftly dispatches of Eng to bring the #31 out front.

11:52 - Pit stops are now beginning. Most, if not all, of the GTPs take the chance under yellow. The #24 BMW with Eng behind the wheel inherits the lead. Notable swaps:


#85 Porsche - Hanson -> van der Helm


11:44 - The #47 Cetilar Ferrari, driven by Lacorte, gets hooked into the outside wall in the Heel by an LMP2, specifically the #04 Crowdstrike. They are out of the event.


11:43 -


11:36 - For the first (and certainly not the last) time this race, the GTPs have caught the GTD Pro and GTD cars. Lapped traffic at a track as narrow as The Glen will prove challenging.


11:33 - The #99 now takes their drive-through. The #11 TDS LMP2 driven by Steven Thomas inherits the class lead.


11:29 - BIG PENALTY FOR LMP2 LEADERS! The #99 driven by Hyett has been given a drive-through penalty for a false start.


Also happening, the #65 Mustang is off the pace, suspected brake issue.


11:28 - Deletraz in the #40 Acura is falling. Since the start, they've dropped to fourth from pole.


11:26 - van der Zande goes wide in Turn 1, allowing Hanson to come through and take the overall lead!


11:25 -


11:20 - As for the LMP2 class, Hyett still leads. In GTD, Thompson also holds the lead from pole.


11:18 - The #18 hasn't gotten the car refired. Their perfect record this season is over in the LMP2 class.


11:17 - YELLOW FLAG


11:15 - CRASH! The #18 goes around in the LMP2 class. There is damage but minimal


11:15 - The #85 Porsche piloted by Hanson is flying currently. He's moved up to second


11:13 - And only a few moments later, van der Zande takes the lead!


11:12 - Deletraz holds the lead in GTP as they weave down the backstraight. Serra holds the lead in GTD Pro.

11:05 - Cars officially on track for pace laps.
