From Indonesia to the land down under, MotoGP heads to Australia for its next stop of the Asia-Pacific tour. A classic racing circuit in a country with a passion and culture for all forms of Motorsport, the Australian Grand Prix is always a memorable affair.
A race circuit that blends so well with the topography, Phillip Island is one of the most naturally free flowing circuits and one of the most beautiful race tracks on the calendar.
12 corners connect the circuit round, a blend of fast sweepers such as Doohan's and tight hairpins like the infamous Honda corner make the old-school track a rider's delight as overtaking opportunities lie virtually everywhere.
After losing his championship lead at the sprint race in Mandalika, the comeback king re-ascended to his throne with one of the greatest rescue jobs in racing. Francesco Bagnaia at the end of the weekend somehow managed to extend his lead from three to 18 points. Bagnaia will be looking to build off his heroic ride and have the momentum swing in his favour.
On the other hand, Jorge Martin will be looking to chase a victory in Phillip Island. The Spaniard has spent much of the recent Grands Prix in a league of his own bar the crash in Indonesia where he was three seconds ahead of everyone. Going to Australia, Martin will be looking to right the wrongs from seven days prior.
Martin's recent form indicates that he's neck and shoulders above most but with Bagnaia aboard a factory red Ducati, no gap is unassailable. With the rounds slowly ticking off, the points tally after Sunday will be of high importance.
