F1 Academy have officially announced that Dutchwoman Nina Gademan will join the grid this weekend, making her series debut as a wildcard entry. Sporting an exclusive ‘Female Quotient’ livery, the partnership will celebrate the brand’s all-new collaboration with the championship.
Born in Wijster, Gademan has risen up the karting ranks — career highlights include a gold medal at the 2019 FIA Motorsport Games in the Karting Slalom, rookie honours in the PTC Cup driving a Citroen C1, and a TB class P2 in the 24 Hours of Zolder.
As of late, she’s been competing in British F4 with Fortec Motorsports, a junior team that has witnessed the likes of Charles Leclerc, Daniel Ricciardo and Sam bird pass through it’s doors. With a rookie podium already under her belt, Gademan’s single-seater debut is off to a brilliant start.
Away from the cockpit, she’s also a driver coach and esports content creator.
Now taking to the ‘Female Quotient’ car, the wildcard entry will be operated by reigning teams champions PREMA Racing — following in the footsteps of this season's prior entries, Reema Juffali and Courtney Crone.
This will be an incredibly important opportunity for Gademan to show her ability, and potentially secure herself an F1 Academy ride in the coming years.
In response to the announcement, Gademan said:
“I believe the Wild Card entries present an excellent opportunity for us to demonstrate what we are capable of in a field like F1 ACADEMY. I am truly grateful for this chance and for the support I have received from the F1 ACADEMY and the PREMA Racing team.”
The 20-year-old also took the time to thank her sponsor for this round, whilst stating the high expectations she has set for herself in the coming races:
“I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to The Female Quotient for their support of the Wild Card initiative in Zandvoort. I will give my utmost to showcase my abilities and make the most of this opportunity.”
Whilst it will be a big change from British F4, Gademan will undoubtedly give it her all. If you’re interested in following her weekend in the series, all the F1 Academy action will be broadcast LIVE on the series’ dedicated YouTube channel.
