Nikita Mazepin is to be replaced by Pietro Fittipaldi for the upcoming second Pre-Season test in Bahrain following the recent termination of the Russian’s contract.

The announcement comes following Mazepin’s recent termination in which both he and his father's company of UralKali were let go from the American outfit, with the unjust invasion of Ukraine being cited as the cause of both.

Pietro Fittipaldi is due to make his 2022 debut in Bahrain for the pre-season test in a few weeks as he works to adjust to the 2022 car and develop his role beyond reserve driver. However reports also suggest the team want a more experienced driver to fill the full time role with more news coming shortly according to Gene Haas.

Fittipaldi, grandson of 2-time Brazilian Formula One champion Emerson Fittipaldi, made his race debut for Haas at the backend of the 2020 season filling in for Romain Grosjean following the Frenchman’s horrific crash at the Bahrain Grand Prix.
