Porsche to launch GT3 Evo in 2026

Porsche Motorsport has revealed that it will roll out an Evo update for its 992 911 GT3 R in 2026 to customer teams.
This marks the first significant upgrade to the existing GT3 model, which has experienced success in a multitude of categories including; WEC (World Endurance Championship), IMSA, DTM (Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters) and SRO (Stéphane Ratel Organisation) GT racing.
The updates on the car have been completed with a "strong emphasis on enhancing driveabilty" according to Porsche. This includes updates to the aerodynamics of the car, to make the Evo version easier for drivers to feel comfortable in.
There will also be software updates to the car and smaller changes on the steering system.
Porsche are expected to have a full reveal of the car in the Summer, with a full customer rollout in 2026. Before then the car will makes its debut in this weekends 12 Hours of Spa in the 24H series.
Porsche factory drivers Laurin Heinrich, Alfred Renauer and Ralf Bohn will take to the wheel of the Evo car in its first race this weekend.
The race will take place in two parts, the first at 12:50 local time on Saturday, and the second at 10:50 local time on Sunday.
