After the announcement of Alex Albon and Liam Lawson driving in the German Touring Car Championship in 2021 a month ago, DTM dropped the news that Red Bull itself will return to the GT series after their disappearance in 2017. Red Bull is going to partner the Italian team AF Corse with two Ferrari 488 GT3 Evos as their cars. F1 fans will be familiar with the liveries of the two Ferraris – while one car will show the typical Red Bull colours, the other will carry the colours of Red Bull´s premium fashion brand, AlphaTauri.

The team is rounded off with the highly experienced driver, Nick Cassidy. Gerhard Berger, head of the DTM, says he is very happy about the big brand joining his changing series: “Both Red Bull and Ferrari are leading global players that represent absolute success in the world of motorsports and beyond.”
The driver pairing of a former Formula 1 driver, an experienced GT driver, and a young talent is, according to Berger, perfect to keep the interest in the DTM up for this year.
Ferrari’s excitement level will be doubled as they wait for the start on June 19th, because it’s not only a start of a new era for them, but it’s going to be their home race in Monza as well.
Fans of the series might want to look out for more announcements to be made in the near future.
