On Tuesday, 19 November, Roush Fenway-Keselowski Racing announced that Ryan Preece would join the team full-time in their No. 60 entry for the 2025 season. Preece was the last driver of the Stewart-Haas Racing bunch to be confirmed for a ride.

Preece started Cup racing sporadically in 2015 with the now defunct Premium Motorsports but never got a full-time Cup opportunity until 2019 with JTG-Daugherty Racing. Alongside Chris Buescher, Preece notched three top-tens - including a third-placed result in the spring Talladega race.

Luck was not on Preece's side in 2020, though, suffering many mechanical faults and getting into many incidents. He finished 29th in points.

In 2021, the charter for his No. 37 car went to Spire Motorsports during the off-season. As a result, Preece ran the season as an open entry - having to risk not qualifying for every event. Nonetheless, he still recorded a career-high four top-tens with a best finish of fourth in the summer Daytona race.

With the costs of running an open entry being so high, Preece was let go by JTG after 2021. He spent 2022 as a reserve driver for Stewart-Haas Racing whilst making occasional Truck Series starts. In this time, he recorded one victory in Nashville in addition to seven top-fives.

Preece returned to the Cup Series with Stewart-Haas Racing in 2023. However, despite a glimmer of hope from their 2022 campaign, SHR slipped to the back of the field. He finished with two top-tens and a best finish of fifth in the Richmond summer race.

2024 looked to be an improvement for the No. 41 squad. Preece recorded a career-high five top-tens - including a fourth-placed finish in Nashville. But, with SHR shutting down come year's end, Preece was left jobless for 2025.

Now, RFK picks up the 34-year-old. The third charter is said to be loaned from Rick Ware Racing. This comes after only one year of open-entry running in 2024 in the No. 60 car - which featured drivers such as David Ragan, Cam Waters, and Joey Hand.
