On August 24th, Trackhouse Racing announced that they would be signing Shane van Gisbergen to a full-time Cup Series ride for the 2025 season.

Van Gisbergen is currently in his first full season of NASCAR machinery – having driven the No. 97 Kaulig Racing car in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. He sits atop the playoff standings with three victories on the season at Portland, Sonoma and Chicago.

In the Cup Series, the Kiwi driver made his debut in 2023, notably winning his very first race in Chicago. Since then, he has been on a part-time basis with Kaulig Racing in the No. 16 car, splitting time with AJ Allmendinger, Derek Kraus, Josh Williams, and Ty Dillon.

He is expected to pilot the No. 88 car in a third Trackhouse entry – teaming up with Ross Chastain and Daniel Suarez.
