110 days to go until the end of this season, which surprised us and gave us a lot to talk about, at least in the first part of the season.
Last year was marked by Max Verstappen's monopoly of 19 race wins, but this year he hasn't fared the same with six other drivers having also proven what it feels like to be victorious. It has been a very controversial season, full of important factors to consider, so let's make a little recap of the things to keep in mind for this second part of the season.
The last ten races of Carlos Sainz and Lewis Hamilton in their respective teams before the BIG change.
It could be said that these two changes of teams are the most important of the season, Hamilton signing with Ferrari, displacing Sainz, which generated a lot of speculation about which was going to be his new team. A day after the summer break started, it was announced that he signed with Williams. This decision was received with uncertainty by all the fans of the Spanish racer, as Williams is one of the weakest teams in the championship. The question is, did Sainz come to refloat and save the team?
On the other hand, Hamilton changes the black and green for the red, having Charles Leclerc as his new teammate. Will Hamilton be able to replicate the former Ferrari glory of the likes of Michael Schumacher? Let's remember that when he started racing for the Italian team, he won five world championships. Is a much coveted eighth in store for Hamilton?
For now we just have to enjoy these last ten races of these drivers and see if they continue adding victories to their careers.
The seats that are still available
There are still four seats available that have not yet been occupied, these are at Alpine, Kick Sauber, Visa Cash App RB, and Mercedes. On the part of Toto Wolff's team, there is much speculation that the seat will be taken by Kimi Antonelli, the F2 racer, but no one has yet made a statement on the matter.
On the other hand, there are riders such as Valtteri Bottas, Daniel Ricciardo, and Guanyu Zhou who have not said anything about their future, which we will surely find out soon.
Will Max Verstappen win his fourth title?
This season has not been a breeze for Verstappen, unlike last year. He has a gap of 77 points with Lando Norris and 100 points with Leclerc. If we do the hypothetical calculation where Verstappen comes out first in all races and Norris second, neither taking the fastest lap, the Dutchman needs to win seven of the ten remaining races to secure his fourth world championship.
It is difficult but not impossible – the team just has to maintain a steady development of their performance in the second half of the year.
Constructors' Championship
Red Bull's victory is also in danger as McLaren is only 42 points behind. The reality is that both McLaren drivers are very strong, unlike Red Bull, as Sergio Perez has not had his best season so far.
A Constructors' victory would be a great event since the English team has not won the championship since the last century, more precisely since 1998.
As we gear up for the final stage of the season, the emotions and expectations couldn’t be higher. With team shake-ups, rivalries, and the possibility of history repeating itself, every race counts more than ever. Will Verstappen defy the odds to clinch his fourth title?
Will Kimi Antonelli be the youngest driver of the grid? And will McLaren win the Constructors' Championship after years of no glory? As the chequered flags approach, one thing's for sure: the drama is far from over. Buckle up, because the second half of the season promises to be a rollercoaster ride you won’t want to miss!
