Following a two week break post-Daytona, Trucks are the second part of  a back-to-back-to-back for the month of March, as we see Kyle Larson take a win in his part time appearance.

The race kicked off with Corey Heim leading the way, but immediately Gio Ruggeiero got loose and spun heading into the first turn, and that accident brought out an early caution. Heim continued his lead on the restart but Kyle Larson in the No.07 engaged the young driver before clearing and holding onto the lead in lap 12.

Larson held a comfortable lead for the rest of the stage until his tyre performance fell off, as Heim in the No.11 and Layne Riggs in the No.34 caught up with the 32-year-old. Heim was able to overtake Larson on the high line and take the stage win, his first of the season.

Stage One Results:

  1. Corey Heim, No.11

  2. Kyle Larson, No.07

  3. Layne Riggs, No.34

  4. Ty Majeski, No.98

  5. Ross Chastain, No.44

  6. Tyler Ankrum, No.18

  7. Daniel Hemric, No..19

  8. Stewart Friesen, No.52

  9. Kaden Honeycutt, No.45

  10. Chandler Smith, No.38

Entering stage two, Heim returned to the lead while most of the front runners remained in their positions. Larson temporarily lost his second place but slowly made it back up, overtaking Stewart Friesen and Ty Majeski to return to second place.

It was a calm stage as the racing was clean and the flags stayed green, as Heim came around for the stage win once again with a comfortable margin of up to a second.

  10. Grant Efinger, No.9

In the restart for the final stage, Heim holds the lead as Ross Chastain in the No.44 pushed up the leaderboards to second place, challenging for the lead on the bottom line. Chastain found success on the bottom as the high line became less grippy, leading to Heim conceding the lead to Chastain.

With 47 laps to go, Heim flipped the script this time around, getting a huge run of the Trackhouse Racing driver down the back straight, snatching the lead back. A few laps later, as Riggs and Larson were fighting for second place, Larson got loose and spun, bringing out the safety car.

Larson was down the pecking order on the restart, but fresh rubber and exceptional driving skills meant he carved through the field like hot knife through butter, coming up right behind leader Riggs with two laps to go.

Unfortunately for Riggs, the No.07 car was simply too quick, as Larson dived to the inside, clearing the No.34 then slid back up to block, securing his first Trucks victory of the season.
