Upgrades brought by Formula One teams for the 2024 Singapore Grand Prix

The Formula One grid returns to another street circuit, this time in the form of Singapore.

The growing competitiveness of the field, especially after McLaren’s newfound glory in the championship standings, led seven teams to bring along their upgrades.

Mercedes, Stake, and Haas are among those who will race in Marina Bay Street Circuit without bringing any upgrades to their respective cars. It was a reverse order compared to the previous round, where three different teams brought in a raft of updates for the weekend.

Current constructor standings leader McLaren continues to find ways to be consistent, one of which is by introducing a higher downforce beam wing.

Acoording to the team, this helps to gain more overall aerodynamic load, as well as accommodating to the characteristics of the track.

To combat the heat at the streets of Singapore, Red Bull’s front corner has been updated with a larger front brake duct to generate better cooling.

Ferrari also look forward to improving their performance after Monza and Baku. A revised front wing will be used, as it also helps with downstream flow “over a wider polar range”.

Another team that made adjustments to their front wing is Aston Martin. Allowing higher load generated by the front wing, the flap on the front wing is tweaked more aggressively to balance the rear wing level.

As done in the previous races, VCARB continues to bring updates to their front wing. The size of the camber and chord flap are increased to gain more load produced by the front wing assembly and to provide balance range needed for the Singaporean circuit.

Alpine’s only upgrade for this round consisted of a reprofiled top rear wing. It is specifically designed to fit the high-downforce nature and characteristics of the circuit.

The front suspension of the Williams cars has undergone several modifications. One of them is that the geometries of pushrod, front wishbones and track rod have been revised.

Some of their brake duct surfaces are once again also updated after Zandvoort. This is done to allow more local load from the previous upgrade.
