Netflix’s latest foray into the motorsport scene will be the release of F1: The Academy on 28th May 2025, a docu-series covering the 2024 season of F1 Academy.

Another step in the right direction for F1 Academy is the launch of an all-new Netflix series following the footsteps of the monumentally popular Formula 1: Drive to Survive. Produced by American actress and producer Reese Witherspoon with her media company Hello Sunshine, the series will delve into the trials and triumphs of the rising generation of women in motorsport through F1 Academy.
With seven episodes slated for the pilot season, viewers can expect exclusive coverage of the season dominated by 2024 F1 Academy Champion Abbi Pulling. The series promises behind-the-scenes footage and will no doubt channel the dramatic tension of Formula 1: Drive to Survive.
The series is also executively-produced by F1 Academy’s Managing Director Susie Wolff, a pioneer in the representation of women in motorsport. Her leadership in this series indicates a strong commitment to authenticity and the honest portrayal of female drivers’ experiences.
F1: The Academy is the latest initiative of F1 Academy in expanding its visibility and appeal to global audiences. Alongside partnering with all ten F1 teams in representing drivers as well as supporting the F1 Grands Prix in all seven of the championship’s rounds, this docu-series is bound to attract a wider fanbase and introduce the importance of F1 Academy to new audiences.
Much like Formula 1: Drive to Survive, this series will welcome more investment into the sport, propelling its mission of female empowerment and holistic support for young female drivers.
Needless to say, fans can look forward to nail-biting moments of racing action, visually stunning shots of cars in action, emotional celebrations, vulnerable moments from drivers and a rare glimpse into F1 Academy’s challenges while breaking barriers.
Catch the action exclusively on Netflix and mark your calendars for 28th May, just ahead of F1 Academy’s fourth round in Montreal for the 2025 season.
