The 2022 edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans may have just finished a couple of weeks ago but the upcoming event has all the signs of being one for the history books.
The 91st but centenary event will play host to what can be one of the most extensive grids with the many adjustments that the World Endurance Championship has announced to come for the 2023 season.
One of these changes is the removal of the ever-decreasing manufacturer support for the GTE category and replacing it with the GT3 class which is growing in popularity. This should bring a whole host of manufacturers that haven't raced at Le Mans in GTs for many years like McLaren, Lamborghini and Audi.
GT3 isn’t the only change however, there will be the introduction of the LMDH classification of top-class Le Mans racers, the return of Lamborghini, Ferrari and Porsche to join the WEC staple team Toyota. This year also welcomes a newcomer; Glickenhaus.
Perhaps the most unusual car to race at Le Mans will be the new-gen NASCAR which will be specially modified so it can complete the race under the off-the-books garage 56 classifications, designed to allow teams and manufacturers to show off new technology.
