Federica Masolin is one of the most popular faces in the world of sports journalism. Good, professional and beautiful, Formula 1 fans can no longer do without her. She is currently at the forefront of Formula 1 motor racing as a presenter for Sky Sports, but in her brilliant career she has also been involved in football, volleyball and the Olympics. Having been with Sky Sports since her early twenties, in 2017 she was elected TV reporter of the year.
Federica Masolin was born on May 5 1985 in Milan, which means she’s turning 36 years old today. Her parents are Flavio and Franca, of Friulian origins. Federica has a younger sister, and she says that as a child she was very jealous. To avoid quarrels between the daughters, their father took Federica to watch tennis matches and car races. This is how Federica fell in love with sport, a passion that she has never abandoned.
She graduated from the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan, majoring in Modern Literature. Before even completing her degree, Federica Masolin worked for some local newspapers. The turning point came during her early twenties when she attained an internship opportunity from Sky Sports.

Sports journalism always seemed to be a taboo for women. However, Federica’s entry to sports journalism, coupled on with her desire to present racing to the world has definitely broken that barrier. She has also declared that she has no intention of changing jobs, because “it allows you to interact with colleagues from all around the world” and dedicating her life to sports, especially to those on four wheels. With a job that matches her lifelong passion, who can blame her?
With a big smile, and her fabulous style, Federica charms everyone she works with and certainly an inspiration to many girls and women around the world. A pride of the Italian nation and all fans of motorsport.
