Women have played an influential role throughout the history of motor racing. Many have taken to the wheels of motorsport machines, while numerous figures have worked tirelessly on the sidelines in various roles, shaping the racing world to the present day.

This time, we spotlight a young talent, and a rookie for the 2025 F1 Academy season, Australian racer Aiva Anagnostiadis.

Racing runs in the Anagnostiadis family. Aiva’s mother, Barbara, was a professional go-karting racer, and her father was a track mechanic, exposing her to motorsports at a very young age. Subsequently, she developed a passion for racing and started karting at just six years old.

The Australian racer quickly showed her talent, earning many podiums and being awarded the Australian Ladies Trophy at the 2021 Australian Kart Championship. In 2022, Anagnostiadis represented her country in the Motorsport Games in France. She finally transitioned to single-seaters in 2024, gaining experience across the Indian F4 Championship and the Formula Winter Series.

Her single-seater debut came with sacrifices but the transition proved easier for the Australian, as her family always stood by her. A family where racing was a lifestyle and Aiva’s dreams were everything, the Anagnostiadis family moved from Melbourne to the UK when she was selected as one of the six karters for the Alpine Rac(H)er Academy Program.

All this hard work and sacrifice launched her to the opportunity of her life. This year, she is joining the 2025 F1 ACADEMY grid with Hitech TGR, backed by none other than TAG Heuer. The 17-year-old is making history in the series, being one of the first Australians to join the prestigious series.

Aiva Anagnostiadis is opening the door for many women in sports at a very young age, bringing in the representation F1 Academy is known for. Aiva takes after her mother, being a fierce competitor who is not just here to race but to win. Truly a driver to keep an eye on this year.
